Thanksgiving '10!

It was just me and Shaun this year for Thanksgiving, so I debated about doing the crazy feast thing...but in the end, I decided to go all out!
I bought a precooked turkey from Publix, so all I had to do was warm it up. Everything else was made by me, though!!! :) I got recipes from my mom, Shaun's mom and sister so that we'd have all of our favorites...
My mom's bread stuffing
Shaun's mom's corn pudding/casserole
Tara's (via Garrett's aunt) sweet potato casserole
My mom's bread pudding for dessert

I also made some green beans with blue cheese and toasted pecans. And bought both kinds of cranberry sauce (jellied and whole berry).
I screwed up the garlic mashed potatoes by adding too much cream, so we didn't have them for dinner but I managed to drain most of the extra cream out, so we have them for leftovers!
And boy! do we have leftovers!!! :) About to heat some of those up right now!!!

Of course, today is traditionally Christmas decorating day. Don't worry, Christmas music is playing, and everything but the tree and the outside decorations are already done! :)

Shaun rocking out!

This guitarist named Lefty hosts an open jam every Monday night at Bella's Pizzeria in Vinings. Once a month, there is a theme. Last Monday, it was Tom Petty and Shaun played 2 sets and definitely rocked out! Yay Shaun!

New place!!!!!

Shaun and I are currently in the process of moving to a new place in Marietta! We had a few bumps along the way trying to find a place, but we stumbled upon this awesome home after we were feeling a little defeated. So, it was meant to be!!! It's in a great neighborhood of Marietta (a house a few houses down from us is being sold by Sotheby's....ooooo) and it's right across the street from a dog park!!!! The front part of the house is a 1 bedroom apartment, and our part is the back and it has 2 bedrooms. This is a view from the back driveway looking at our front door.
We also get the detached two car garage and storage space above the garage.
This is the awesome fenced in backyard. Annie and Texas are gonna love it!
This is the first room you walk into - we are making it our dining area.
Here is the gigantic kitchen. The washer and dryer hookups are in the kitchen (eek! but that's the way it is with old houses!) so anyone have any good ideas for camouflaging them?
Here is the view from the kitchen into the main living space. BTW, the floors in the kitchen, dining and living are Pergo! Practically undestroyable by puppies!
Here is the bigger hallway bathroom.
Master bedroom. Also, all the ceilings are 12 feet! And new carpet in the bedrooms!
This is a view into the hallway. Yes, there are 6 closets for storage!!!!
Oh wait, here's another closet in the hallway!
This is the tiny bathroom off the 2nd bedroom. It's all brand new, but you can barely turn around in it. :)
This is the smaller 2nd bedroom, which will be our office. Notice the built ins! It also has another closet. Are you keeping count? We have, like, 9...plus a pantry!
So there it is! Back to moving before it gets too blazingly hot here in the A-T-L!

Crater Lake

It was a little rainy and overcast the day we went...but it was still spectacular!
We ate lunch at the lodge. BTW, this was, like, the 4th take of this picture of Mom and Pop. Durr!
Now, here's a couple that can mug for the camera ! :)
Cute tiny animal!
Facebook pic! LOL!

Trip to OR!

This is when we were still happy on an airplane. This was a very brief moment in the course of our travels. Also, it takes 20 minutes to tell the story of how bad getting to OR was. Totally not joking.
We ended up in Portland first. There is a coffee house on every corner. We stayed with Shaun's friend from middle school, Farley. Portland's got great food, a great vibe, and we could definitely go back there!

Then we went to Medford/Phoenix/Talent/Ashland and Jacksonville. Shaun says that they entire economy on the valley subsists on coffee shops and spiritual healers. Also, the day we got back to GA, he complained that there was no Dutch Brothers. :)
Trolley in Jacksonville.

Say buh-bye!

You Can't Stop the Beat!

My Musical Theater I class danced for the senior dinner at the Roswell Senior Center. My Musical Theater II class did, as well, but being that they are all 10-13 years old, they were, of course, camera shy.

Sips N Strokes

Elizabeth and I and a couple of her friends from college tried our hands at painting at this place called Sips N Strokes. You bring your own wine and snacks, then proceed to try to replicate a painting taught by an actual professional. We went on the night that the painting was of circles...cause truly, how hard could it be?

Elizabeth all ready to paint!
Halfway there...
Elizabeth's final product! Not too shabby!
Carley and Jennifer painting and drinking! This is mine after the first round of painting. Look at my pretty squares!
Then I added circles and voila!
About three glasses of wine later, I had a painting! And yes, it is hanging in our house. I found the nails and hammer and did it myself before Shaun protested. :)
Elizabeth and I Myspace picturing it!

Devon video from Debbi's birthday celebration

Shaun annoying the baby. (shocker!) Notice how she pushes him away at the end! Hilarious!

Celebrating Debbi's birthday!

We went to the Miller's house a while ago to celebrate Debbi's birthday. I baked a pig cake!!!

Garrett hanging out on the couch with Devon.
Devon all ready for some cake!
The pig cake!
Having some pig cake...
Devon enjoyed the pig cake so much!
In a sugar induced mini trance...

Hockey Game!

The Thrashers played horribly, but we had fun!

I look like I am drunk. I am, in fact, not drunk. Scotty just doesn't know how to take pictures.
Go Thrahers!
Shaun and Scotty
I just thought this was cute. I'm obviously trying to take a picture of us, but I hit the video button instead.
